Evidence suggests that oral hygiene regimens may reduce this risk. Despite this, the provision of oral care in acute care hospitals is variable and particularly limited in care settings for the elderly. This literature review explores barriers to the implementation of oral care, including lack of evidence-based protocols and inadequate accountability structures within organizations, low staff knowledge, staff attitudes and beliefs, and patient-related factors such as non-compliance. . Organizational factors appear to be an important issue and require further research to improve the outcomes of this vulnerable population. 2020-09-19T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Nursing and Midwifery http://researchreview.in/index.php/nm/article/view/49 Breast Decrease in Perceptıon: A Qualıtatıve Study 2020-09-19T16:32:53+00:00 Michel L. Francesco, José Connie Orellana vivekdaniel17@gmail.com Women can loss their breast due to cancer or other disease. Methods A prospective cohort project was used to conduct a comprehensive assessment of health objectives, life stress, behaviors, personal traits, social factors, indicators of involvement and performance, and environmental exposures to nursing students. Adjusted probability ratios and covariance analyzes were used to examine the associations between these factors at baseline. Results The health indicators in the cohort were comparable or better than in the larger population of the United States, and lifetime stress exposure was lower than among students in other major classes. Exposure to several stressors has been associated with an increased risk for various health conditions, including hypertension, diabetes and depression. Instead, better social, environmental, behavioral and personal profiles were associated with protective effects for the same health conditions. Discussion These data comprehensively summarize the lives of students attending predominantly Hispanic health care and highlight the risk and resistance factors associated with their health and well-being. The findings are timely, as the field of healthcare is diversifying in preparation for caring for a diverse and aging population. A comprehensive assessment of stress-health relationships among nursing students should inform nursing school policies, practices and programs to better prepare nurses to thrive in the often tiring healthcare environment. 2020-09-19T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Nursing and Midwifery http://researchreview.in/index.php/nm/article/view/53 Nurses’ Knowledge and Attitude towards Diabetic Foot Care in a Secondary Health Care Centre in Sudan 2020-09-19T17:12:53+00:00 Kendra Verdeja Yamas vivekdaniel17@gmail.com Background Nurses play a vital role in diabetic foot ulcers care and prevention. Patient education, prevention of ulcers and rehabilitation are some of the vital aspects that nurses provide daily. Good knowledge and attitude of nurses towards diabetic foot ulcers and its care will ensure better patient care. AimsTo study the level of knowledge and attitude of nurses towards diabetic foot ulcers and its care in a secondary healthcare centre in sudan. Methods Validated questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge and attitude of nurses towards diabetic foot ulcers and diabetic foot care. The questionnaire covers area such as demography, predisposing factors of ulcer formation, characteristics of ulcers, complications of ulcers, and attitude towards diabetic foot care. Results 57% of the participants scored poorly in the knowledge section of the questionnaire. 72% had scored poorly when asked regarding complications of diabetic foot ulcers. 49.5% of the nurses have a positive attitude towards diabetic foot care and 79.3% of the nurses think that care for diabetic foot ulcer is time-consuming. Majority of the nurses think that colleagues are the main knowledge updating source. All demographic variables were deemed to be confounders with the knowledge and attitude of nurses towards diabetic foot ulcers and its care. ConclusionsNurses in this centre possess poor knowledge towards diabetic foot ulcers and its care. None of the variable studied have been correlated with the level know nurses’ knowledge. Good or poor knowledge does not correspond equally to good or poor attitude towards diabetic foot ulcers care. More frequent formal training of diabetic foot care would be needed to ensure better knowledge among the nurses. Poor attitude towards diabetic foot care can be contributed by the lack of work force, high workload and lack of multidisciplinary approach towards diabetic foot care. 2020-09-19T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2020 Nursing and Midwifery http://researchreview.in/index.php/nm/article/view/54 Exercises training program: It’s Effect on Muscle strength and Activity of daily living among elderly people 2020-09-19T17:16:30+00:00 Hatato Sugaono, Tecchio, J.
